The Osun State Police Command has launched an investigation into the sudden and tragic death of a young woman, Bidemi Omole, who reportedly died at the home of her boyfriend, Yinka, in Esa-Oke, Osun State.
According to sources in the town, Bidemi had arrived at Yinka’s residence on Friday evening, but shortly after, she became ill and passed away around 9:30 p.m. The circumstances of her death remain unclear, but the incident quickly caused panic across the Oke Esa area, drawing a large crowd to the scene.
A local resident, Taye, said: “We heard a call for help and ran toward Yinka’s house. Security operatives were already there when I arrived, but the place was crowded. The girl usually attends a Friday vigil, so we were surprised this happened.”
Police have since arrested the boyfriend, who is currently in custody as part of an ongoing investigation. While no official cause of death has been confirmed, the situation has drawn widespread attention and sparked strong reactions from Nigerians online.
